BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Just days after graduating, Cocoa High Tiger Trinity Parham has signed with Grambling State University, where she will continue sprinting at the collegiate level.

Parham has been successful all four years at Cocoa and has progressed in speed each year on the track.

She is no stranger to finishing first. As a member of the Cocoa Track & Field team, their speed has been on display for decades, and Parham is just one of the many successful athletes to go through the Tigers’ program.

Parham has been part of numerous first-place 4×100 teams, as well as a 4×200 team. She did not claim a first-place time in her race until last year at the Cocoa Tiger Time Trials, where she placed first in the 60-meter, 300-meter, and long jump.

Once she got the taste of first place, Parham did not let up, winning four more 100-meter races, including the 100-meter at the District 8 meet. She also won the 200-meter event, and, of course, the 4×100 team would go on to win districts and regionals.

She finished her Junior season sixth in the 100-meter and 14th in the 200-meter at the state meet, and the 4×100 team placed fifth. As a Senior, she posted her best times in the 100-meter and 200-meter races and won most of her 100-meter races, including the 100-meter district and Cape Coast Conference.

Her strong finishes would carry over to states as Parham finished third in the 100-meter, 2nd in the 200-meter, and the stellar 4×100 team made up of Trinity Parham, I’Yana Barnes, Diamond Bryant, and Jayla Edgecombe finished first, setting a school and county record with a 45.60 time.

Parham will now join fellow Brevard County sprinters, Junior Tykira Glasco of Rockledge and Redshirt Freshman Shamya Joiner of Cocoa at Grambling State University, who competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
