BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA—The FHSAA Playoffs have come and gone for many teams around the county, but Viera Hawks baseball is the only team still playing. Eau Gallie and MCC softball keep their hot streaks going.
BASEBALL
The Viera Hawks stand alone as the last team from Brevard County in the 2025 FHSAA playoffs.
After a thrilling 2-1 series victory over Martin County last week, the Hawks set their sights on Bloomingdale for the Regional Finals.
With a chance to advance to the final four on the line, Viera took Game 1 of the series last night, winning 3-1.
A three-run third inning was all it took for the Hawks, as stellar pitching kept Bloomingdale from catching any momentum. Viera will look to defeat Bloomingdale tonight to move on to the State Semifinals. If the Bulls win, they will head to Viera on Saturday for Game 3.
SOFTBALL
Multiple teams across the county were in play tonight for the FHSAA Regional quarterfinals. Eau Gallie has been on fire this season and shut out Citrus 11-0 to advance to the semifinals. The Commodores will host sixth-seeded Tavares next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Just like the Commodores, the Melbourne Central Catholic softball team has played phenomenally all season. The Hustlers breezed through Windermere Prep yesterday, 12-1, moving on to the regional semifinals.
Unfortunately, the Rockledge Raiders fell to Lake Wales last night, ending their season. At 15-10, the Raiders improved a year ago, going 13-11, and they will look to continue building on their success.
Astronau High’s season ended as they travelled to South Sumter and lost a tough one to the Raiders. The War Eagles are coming off a district title and can use that momentum into next season.
