BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Shellianne LaFrance made the move from Maine to Florida over two decades ago in search of sunshine, beaches, and a vibrant lifestyle—and she found just that in Melbourne, Florida.

Embracing the warmth and natural beauty of the Space Coast, she quickly fell in love with all the area had to offer. Not long after her relocation, her family followed suit, drawn by the same promise of coastal charm and opportunity.

Having lived in Melbourne for the past 24 years, Shellianne has witnessed remarkable growth throughout Brevard County.

“I’ve seen our community flourish with new churches, schools, neighborhoods, and shopping plazas,” she says. “It’s exciting to be a part of such a dynamic and evolving area.”

From relaxing strolls through local parks to boating on the Intracoastal Waterway, Shellianne takes full advantage of the Florida lifestyle. She enjoys visiting the Brevard Zoo, supporting small family-owned businesses, and taking in live performances at the Cocoa Village Playhouse.

“These local gems add so much cultural vibrancy and charm to our community,” she shares.

Shellianne’s personal journey is one of resilience and hope. In 2021, she tragically lost her husband of 35 years to COVID-19.

“Losing someone you love is incredibly tough, and the void feels deep,” she reflects. “But you have to push through, take care of yourself and your family, and trust that love will return in time.” Today, she is engaged and looking forward to a new chapter filled with love, joy, and new experiences.

Family remains the center of Shellianne’s world. Her children, who were raised in Brevard County and attended its top-rated schools and colleges, now have families of their own in Palm Bay, Port St. John, and Pensacola. She is a proud grandmother to six wonderful grandchildren who keep her heart full and her life busy.
