BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – SpaceX successfully launched the SpainSat NG II communications satellite late Wednesday night, marking another milestone from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Liftoff occurred within the scheduled four-hour window that opened at 9:30 p.m. ET.
The Falcon 9 rocket carried the SpainSat NG II satellite to a geosynchronous transfer orbit, where it will provide advanced communications capabilities for Spain and allied nations. The mission was conducted for Hisdesat, a Spanish government satellite services operator, as part of an ongoing effort to enhance secure military and government communications.

This flight was a significant one for SpaceX’s fleet management: it marked the 22nd and final mission for the veteran Falcon 9 first-stage booster.
Over its remarkable service life, the booster had supported a diverse range of payloads, including CRS-26 to the International Space Station, OneWeb Launch 16, Intelsat IS-40e, SES O3b mPOWER-C, Ovzon-3, Eutelsat 26D, Turksat 6A, Maxar 2, SXM-9, and a dozen Starlink launches.
