BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Brevard Humane Society will host a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of a $2.5 million renovation project at its Cocoa Adoption Center.

The event will take place on Friday, October 24, at 10 a.m. at 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa.

The long-anticipated renovation will expand the facility and increase its capacity to care for homeless pets.

The project is designed to create a healthier, more modern environment that supports the well-being of the animals and enhances the organization’s ability to serve the community.

Local leaders, supporters, and animal advocates are expected to attend the ceremony, marking a major milestone for the Humane Society.

The organization credits the generosity and dedication of the community for making the project possible and looks forward to celebrating this significant step forward for animal care in Brevard County.

The Brevard Humane Society provides animal welfare shelters and programs that foster a humane ethic towards all animals.

The organization also strives to deepen the community’s commitment to spaying and neutering, as well as the adoption of homeless companion animals.

“We believe this to be essential to achieving our purpose of humane care and treatment of all animals, and to succeed in becoming a ‘no kill’ community,” said a BHS spokesperson.

As a leading animal welfare organization, Brevard Humane Society promotes responsible pet ownership and provides spay/neuter programs and services.

They have been helping Brevard County’s homeless animals since 1952. No animal admitted to the facility will be euthanized due to time, space, or treatable medical conditions.

Until their “furever” home arrives, they provide shelter, food, veterinary care, and plenty of love to the animals.

BHS is a private, charitable animal welfare organization supported solely by our programs and services, as well as donations, private grants, and fundraising events.

They offer programs and services to educate, inform, and inspire people to take responsible care of their pets and treat animals with the kindness they deserve. With the support of people across the county, BHS is helping to create a better community for all.
