BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Brevard County officials have begun coordinated pumping operations in Titusville to alleviate lingering floodwaters following heavy rains on Sunday, Oct. 26.
In partnership with the City of Titusville, the Florida Division of Emergency Management, the Florida Department of Transportation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the St. Johns River Water Management District, county crews are working to move standing water out of the Parkland Street area to restore normal drainage and reduce impacts to residents.
The pumping effort comes as part of a rapid, multi-agency response to flooding that left portions of Titusville waterlogged earlier in the week. The collaboration brings together local, state, and federal resources to expedite relief and prevent additional property damage.
“By deploying pumps and monitoring conditions in real time, we’re taking proactive steps to bring immediate relief to residents while ensuring operations are safe and effective,” the county said in a statement.
Brevard County Public Works, along with Titusville’s Public Works Department and engineers from the U.S. Army Corps, will continue to oversee water movement and adjust operations as conditions evolve.
Monitoring tools are being used to track progress and evaluate water levels throughout the area.
Officials urge residents to remain cautious near active work sites and avoid driving through flooded roadways while crews continue flood mitigation efforts.
