Washout Forces Temporary Closure of D. Johnson Avenue in Mims

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – D. Johnson Avenue in Mims was closed on Saturday morning after a large washout developed just north of Harrison Road due to recent heavy rains.
The Brevard County Public Works Department reported that the damage was significant enough to require an immediate shutdown of the roadway to ensure public safety.
Crews from Public Works were dispatched promptly and began emergency repairs to stabilize the area and restore the road. Officials emphasized that the work is being completed as quickly and safely as possible to minimize disruption to local residents and travelers.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until repairs are finished and the road can be safely reopened.
