Rescission of Precautionary Boil Water Notices Announced Across City of Melbourne

The City of Melbourne Utility Department has officially lifted two precautionary boil water notices after completing water main repairs and confirming the safety of the drinking water through bacteriological surveys.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Melbourne Utility Department has officially lifted two precautionary boil water notices after completing water main repairs and confirming the safety of the drinking water through bacteriological surveys.

The first notice, issued initially on October 9, affected customers on Cronin Avenue from 703 through 836, Clark Avenue from 856 through 868, Laden Road from 2116 through 2272, and McDermont Avenue from 829 through 853.

Following successful infrastructure repairs and testing, the water in these areas has been deemed safe for consumption.

A second notice, published on October 10 for the Front Street area, has also been rescinded. This notice applies to E. Melbourne Avenue at 1207, Front Street at 2005, and E. New Haven Avenue at 1313.

Repairs were completed, and a bacteriological survey verified that the water met all safety standards.

City officials expressed appreciation for residents’ patience during the repair and testing process. The Utility Department emphasized its commitment to protecting public health and ensuring the reliability of the water system.
