OBITUARY: Health First Viera Hospital President Dustin Boring Passes Away, Dedicated His Life to Caring for Others

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Dustin Boring, president of Health First Viera Hospital and a dedicated member of the Viera community, passed away recently. He was a beloved husband, father, colleague, and friend whose legacy will be remembered by many throughout Brevard County and beyond.
A resident of Viera, Dustin is survived by his loving wife, Danielle, and their two daughters, Ariana and Lilly. Known for his warm heart and unwavering dedication to others, Dustin lived a life defined by service, both in his personal life and professional career.
Dustin joined Health First in 2018 and quickly made a lasting impact.
He served first as Vice President and Hospital Administrator before becoming President of Viera Hospital in November 2024.
Before his work at Health First, he spent more than a decade at Indian River Medical Center, where he also held leadership roles and helped shape patient care strategies with compassion and integrity.
In a statement, Health First Hospital Division President Mike Mullowney praised Dustin’s contributions and the deep impression he left on those around him.
“Dustin Boring was a beloved leader, colleague, husband, and father. Our hearts go out to his family during this time of unimaginable loss,” Mullowney said.
“He dedicated his life to caring for others, not just as a healthcare leader, but as a friend and mentor to so many. He was known for his genuine kindness, humility, and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether you were a patient, an associate, or a fellow leader, Dustin made everyone feel heard and valued.”
Mullowney also emphasized Dustin’s commitment to community and service.
“Dustin’s commitment to our mission and values showed in the way he treated every person with dignity, respect, and genuine care. He believed in the importance of looking after one another and supporting our community,” said Mullowney.
Dustin held a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Florida State College and a master’s degree from St. Leo University, reflecting his lifelong dedication to growth and excellence.
Above all, Dustin will be remembered for his heartfelt leadership, quiet strength, and the deep love he had for his family. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
