BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department recognized U.S. Army veteran Sarah Brown with this month’s VCOP Spotlight.
Brown started volunteering for the Palm Bay Police Department in 2022, after observing the VCOPs in action. She joined to continue her history of giving back to her community.
Originally from Memphis Tennessee, Sarah served six years in the US Army as a Strategic Microwave Systems Repairer. She also served in the US Naval Reserves for seven years.
Her son Xavier continues the tradition of serving in the military as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
A career opportunity brought Sarah to Palm Bay where she worked as a System Integration and Test Engineer for 24 years.
In addition to her weekly VCOP shift, Sarah volunteers twice a month at a local food pantry.
When not helping others, she enjoys gardening, listening to live music, and time spent at the beach.
As a patrol VCOP, Sarah has experienced a plethora of various activities/situations to include traffic support, courier runs, found property, and helping citizens with VIN verifications. We are extremely fortunate to have Sarah as part of the VCOPs!
