Break Out the Jackets!

Tuesday was a blustery, chilly day with max temps about 20 degrees below normal. This produced record-low high temperatures across east central Florida, after record lows this morning. Temperatures will fall quickly Tuesday night with patchy to areas of frost developing north of Orlando late Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and pleasant, with a high around 73 °F (23 °C) and a low about 46 °F (8 °C). Tip: Perfect day for errands or a stroll—morning is chillier, but midday opens up nicely.

Thursday: Another pleasant day. Sunshine dominates, high near 75 °F (24 °C), low around 53 °F (12 °C). Tip: Light layers will be enough; you’ll likely find yourself comfortable in just a long-sleeve or light jacket.

Friday: Very similar to Thursday: plenty of sunshine, high around 76 °F (25 °C) and low near 61 °F (16 °C). Tip: A great day to get outside—maybe plan something outdoors if you’ve been waiting for nicer weather.

Saturday: Looks like another fine day: high near 78 °F (26 °C) and low around 60 °F (16 °C). Sunshine, warm air, and no major weather hazards. Tip: Ideal for outdoor hobbies, relaxed time by the water, or catching up on whatever you’ve got.

Break Out the Jackets! Brevard County Prepares for a Winter-Like Chill

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County residents are in for a dramatic weather shift this week, as a powerful cold front sweeps through Central Florida, bringing an end to the region’s recent stretch of warm, humid days.

After a weekend high near 80°F under partly cloudy skies, temperatures are expected to plunge sharply beginning late Sunday night into Monday morning.

The National Weather Service forecasts highs on Monday struggling to reach the upper 60s, followed by overnight lows tumbling into the upper 30s in some inland areas—a temperature drop of more than 20 degrees in less than 24 hours.

“It’s going to feel like we skipped right past fall and straight into winter,” said meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Melbourne. “Residents should prepare for a noticeable chill, especially early Tuesday morning, when wind chills could make it feel even colder.”

By Tuesday, the cool air mass will settle firmly over the Space Coast. Daytime highs will hover near 60°F, with crisp, dry air and breezy northerly winds replacing the muggy humidity Floridians have grown used to. Overnight lows could dip near 40°F inland, while coastal areas may stay slightly milder in the mid-40s

Tuesday: Still on the cool side. Expect some sunshine mixed with clouds and highs near 60 °F (15 °C). Overnight low falls to around 40 °F (5 °C). Tip: If you’ve got early-morning plans, dress warmly. A heavier jacket may be needed until things warm up.

Wednesday: The weather begins to rebound. Mostly sunny and pleasant, with a high around 73 °F (23 °C) and a low about 46 °F (8 °C).

Space Coast residents can expect a quick shift in the weather over the next few days as warm, breezy conditions give way to some of the coldest air of the season early next week.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Space Coast residents can expect a quick shift in the weather over the next few days as warm, breezy conditions give way to some of the coldest air of the season early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, temperatures will climb slightly above normal through the weekend before a strong cold front moves through the area late Sunday into Monday.

Once the front passes, a noticeable chill will set in across Central Florida.

By Monday night into Tuesday morning, lows are forecast to dip into the upper 40s, with wind gusts up to 25 mph making it feel even colder.

Tuesday morning’s wake-up temperatures will be among the lowest so far this fall, forecasters said.

“Some of the coldest air we’ve experienced so far this season arrives Monday night into Tuesday morning,” meteorologists noted. Afternoon highs on Tuesday are expected to reach the mid-60s, but the brisk winds will keep things feeling cool throughout the day.

There’s a slight 20% chance of rain through the weekend as the front approaches, though most of Brevard County should remain dry.

As for how long the chill will last, temperatures are expected to rebound by midweek gradually, but cool mornings will likely linger for several days.

Officials remind residents that cold weather shelters typically open when overnight temperatures are expected to drop below 45 degrees. Announcements regarding any openings will likely be made over the weekend.

So, enjoy the warm weekend sunshine while it lasts — Central Florida’s first authentic taste of fall is on the way.

For flood-impacted residents only, curbside bulk household material collections will run to Saturday, November 22. Officials ask that residents have patience as these operations work through these affected neighborhoods.

To help keep collection efforts safe and efficient, residents are encouraged to follow these guidelines:

Separate flood-related debris into separate piles away from trees, mailboxes, water meters, or under overhead wires

Household materials: furniture, mattresses
Construction debris: drywall, carpet, flooring

• Residents who live within a municipality should contact their local government for specific information on debris pickup.

As a reminder, for residents who want to transport their own materials, there is no charge to drop your debris at the landfill.

Regular garbage, recycling, and containerized yard waste collections by Waste Management will continue as usual.
