BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Jacob Pino of the Florida Tech Baseball team has been awarded Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Pitcher of the Week for his elite performance in a Panther win over No. 4 Florida Southern.
The junior from Apopka pitched seven innings in a shutout 2-0 victory over the Moccasins.
Pino gave up just two hits and zero runs while totaling four strikeouts, facing 23 batters. The win helped Pino improve to 2-0 on the season while handing the starting pitcher for Florida Southern his first loss of the year.

Pino is in his first season with the Panthers after transferring from NAIA Thomas University. This is the first Pitcher of the Week award of his career. He is also the first Panther to win Pitcher of the Week since the 2023 season.
The Panthers are back in action this weekend for a three-game road series against Nova Southeastern.
The first game will start Friday, February 28 at 6 p.m. with a double-header to follow on Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m..
