MCC 37 – OCP 14
Melbourne Central Catholic was another team in dire need of a win, and trying to keep their playoff hopes alive, they took down Orlando Christian Prep last night. The game was close for the first quarter and a half, but then the Hustlers ran away with it in the second. MCC will look to string together a couple more wins before heading into the postseason.
Eau Gallie 56 – Palm Bay 6
Eau Gallie’s dynamic duo of Xavier Lherisse and X’Zavier Corbin led the way again for the Commodores in their dominant win over the Pirates. Eau Gallie still has a date with Merritt Island in a few weeks, which will determine the seeding heading into the playoffs in about a month.
Space Coast 47 – Master’s Academy 14
Space Coast continued their stellar play on Friday, and the Vipers are in the hunt to repeat as State champions. Kadyn Thomas became the all-time leader in interceptions in Space Coast football history as the Vipers moved to 8-1. Space Coast will look to finish its season on a high note next week, taking on Stanton.
Viera 41 – Seabreeze 14
Viera has hit their stride and won comfortably over Seabreeze. The Hawks will now prepare for the Melbourne Bulldogs in a huge district matchup that will see the winner take second place behind Osceola. The Hawks have had stellar play from quarterback Eric Nelson and the surrounding cast on offense.
Okeechobee 22 – Bayside 0
Bayside has not been able to find a consistent stride through this season; they have been up and down, and will slowly start to look towards the off-season. Tough loss for the Bears, but they do have some key pieces that are playmakers and will return next year for this squad.
Foundation Academy 37 – Cocoa Beach 34
This season has been a tough one for the Minutemen, with a lot of growing pains as the team faced one of their more demanding schedules in recent history. Two losses of the seven came by one touchdown or less, which was a recurring theme from a season ago.
Mainland 33 – Heritage 6
Heritage has battled through one of the most challenging schedules across the county, and last night was another rough one. On the road in the Mainland, the Panthers fell and still have a couple of challenging games left. While the Panthers have talent on their roster, they have not found their groove this season.
Holy Trinity 49 – Oxbridge Academy 0
Another game, another win for Holy Trinity. The Tigers take care of business as they prepare for postseason play. Holy Trinity has been on fire this season, winning the games they are supposed to. Coach Hurlie and company look to bring the Tigers to the state championship.
Rockledge 41 – Pine Ridge 24
Good bounce-back win for the Raiders after a tough couple of games in the weeks prior. Rockledge will host New Smyrna Beach before facing its rivals, Cocoa, in the annual BBQ bowl. While the 3-5 record is not pretty, the Raiders still have a chance to make the postseason.
8-MAN
Merritt Island Christian 54 – Eastland Christian 0
The Cougars have continued their dominance with another blowout win. Merritt Island Christian is seeking their second state championship in the past three seasons.
