Florida Tech’s Trenten Anderson and Jacob Pino Named to Academic All-District Baseball Team

Two Florida Tech baseball team members earned a spot on the College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District team when the organization announced its selections on Tuesday. Trenten Anderson and Jacob Pino represent the Panthers on the CSC Academic All-District team.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s Trenten Anderson and Jacob Pino earned a spot on the College Sports Communications Academic All-District baseball team.

Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-team, second-team, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-April.

Anderson, a graduate student, earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental resource management, holding a 3.75 grade point average. This is the second time that Anderson has earned Academic All-District status in his career.

This season, he reached a career-high 39 strikeouts with a 3.40 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched with one win and one save.

Pino, a junior, is earning his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and holds a 3.50 grade point average.

This is the first time Pino has earned Academic All-District status in his career. This season, his first with Tech, he recorded 42 strikeouts and tied for the team lead in wins with four, pitching 68 innings with a 5.29 ERA.

Pino collected two top 25-ranked wins, earning Pitcher of the Week Honors after giving up just two hits and zero runs while totaling four strikeouts, facing 23 batters in a 2-0 shutout win over #4 Florida Southern and defeating #21 Rollins 4-3 in extra innings.

Florida Tech will look to make a splash next year after finishing the season 24-24 overall and 13-17 in the Sunshine State Conference.
