BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – The stage is set for one of Brevard County’s most anticipated matchups as the Rockledge Raiders (3-6) host the Cocoa Tigers (4-4) in the annual BBQ Rivalry this Thursday night on Space Coast Daily TV.
Records and rankings tend to go out the window when these two neighbors meet — bragging rights, pride, and tradition are always on the line.
Cocoa enters Week 11 looking to bounce back from an up-and-down season and sharpen its edge before the postseason.
The Tigers’ offense is led by quarterback Champ Smith. Leading the backfield charge is running back Javeon Scott, whose speed and vision make him a threat to score every time he touches the ball. On the outside, wide receiver Tank White provides a dangerous target.
Rockledge, meanwhile, is determined to finish the regular season on a high note and spoil Cocoa’s momentum.
The Raiders are led by senior quarterback Robbie Blalock, who has developed strong chemistry with his offensive weapons throughout the season.
Running back Rahiem Cutter brings toughness and explosiveness to the ground game, while wide receiver Elijah Mitchell gives Rockledge a dynamic option in the passing attack with his ability to stretch the field.
Both teams feature aggressive defenses and plenty of playmakers on both sides of the ball, setting the stage for another hard-fought chapter in this long-standing rivalry.
With a passionate home crowd expected at McLarty Stadium, the intensity and emotion of the BBQ Rivalry promise to deliver another memorable night of high school football.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Thursday in Rockledge.
