Brevard County to Honor Fallen Heroes with Memorial Day Ceremonies on Monday, May 26

Brevard County will commemorate Memorial Day on Monday, May 26, with multiple ceremonies across the region. These ceremonies will honor the generations of military men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA—Brevard County will commemorate Memorial Day on Monday, May 26, with multiple ceremonies across the region.  The event will honor the generations of military men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States.

The Brevard Veterans Memorial Center will hold its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the VMC Plaza from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Attendees can expect a program focused on music, remembrance, and reflection.

This year’s theme, “Generations of Service and Sacrifice for America,” will highlight the legacy of military service. Guest speakers will represent both the Vietnam War and the Global War on Terror. For more information, contact Donn Weaver at 757-871-6576.

Later in the morning, the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims will hold its own Memorial Day Ceremony from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and umbrellas.

The day’s final significant observance will occur in Cocoa Village and Riverfront Park. It will begin with a Memorial Day Parade at 3 p.m. and end with a ceremony at 5 p.m.

These county-wide observances are open to the public and serve as powerful reminders of the cost of freedom. Veterans, families, and community members are encouraged to attend and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
