Titusville Police Warn Residents About Fraudulent Text Message Scams

Legitimate organizations will never ask you to confirm sensitive information through random text messages

The Titusville Police Department is warning the Space Coast about fraudulent text messages currently circulating in Brevard County. These scam texts often claim there’s a problem with your bank account, package delivery, unpaid tolls, or government benefits. They usually contain a link or ask you to reply.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville Police Department is warning the Space Coast about fraudulent text messages currently circulating in Brevard County.

These scam texts often claim there’s a problem with your bank account, package delivery, unpaid tolls or government benefits. They usually contain a link or ask you to reply.

• Do NOT click on any links.
• Do NOT respond to the message.
• Delete the text immediately.

Remember: Legitimate organizations will never ask you to confirm sensitive information, passwords, or payments through random text messages.

If you receive a suspicious text:

• Take a screenshot if possible.
• Report it to the Federal Trade Commission at www.reportfraud.ftc.gov
• If you believe you’ve given out personal information, contact your bank and credit agencies immediately.
